Press Card and Temporary Press Card

Press Card 

Journalists/national and international media who intend to cover Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ activities (journalists/media post in Department of Foreign Affairs) must have a press card that is issued by Directorate of Information and Media Services, Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The requirements are:

  • Application letter from the journalist’s News Agency/Editor to the Director of Information and Media Services
  • Copy of ID/KTP/Passport
  • Two coloured photographs (3X4 cm)
  • Copy of press card issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (for validity extension of press card)

The requirements for press card application for foreign correspondent (foreign citizen) residing in Jakarta:

  • Application letter from the journalist’s News Agency/Editor to the Director of Information and Media Services
  • Copy of passport and visa
  • Copy of Work Permit (IMTA),
  • Stay Permit (KITAS) and
  • Police Registration Card (SKLD)
  • Copy of information letter stated his/her address in Jakarta from District Officials
  • Copy of press card issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (for validity extension of press card) 

Temporary Press Card

Journalist/foreign media who intend to cover/shoot film in Indonesia and has already collected journalist visa from Indonesian Missions overseas, must collect temporary press card in Directorate of Information and Media Services by submitting copy of his/her passport, visa and imigration stamp, two coloured photographs (3X4 cm) and Letter of Notification provided by the Indonesian Embassy/Representative office where his/her visa was issued.
